Tasting Notes

The elegant, distinctive nose offers vine-ripened peach, pineapple, orange blossoms and lemon zest. The palate is fruit-forward and fresh. A delicate wine for special occasions.

Vineyards

The Enkircher Steffensberg vineyard was rated highest in the Napoleonic-Prussian vineyard classification of 1886. The Gran Cru site is situated on a south facing slope with optimal sun exposure and copper red and gray slate soils that give the wine its powerful structure. The vines are trellised and sustainably farmed without the use of herbicides.

Winemaking

After being hand-harvested, the grapes are fermented using gravity flow principles and aged in 2,000-liter barrels.

This tightly wound mosel dry riesling has intense, salty minerality and crisp pear fruit, together with pronounced wild-herb character. Quite austere finish. Needs further bottle age to give its best. From more than 60-year-old, ungrafted vines. From organically grown grapes with fair'n green certification. Vegan. Drink or hold.

Best of Imports. The 60-year-old vines are on a well-established Grand Cru site. Prickly notes of salted almonds, white flowers, chamomile, and wet stone are just the base notes of this layered wine. Honeyed drops of peach lather the palate.
