Rosé
Born of the Waihopai Valley, The Ned represents the vibrant diversity that is so prevalent in the Marlborough wine-growing region. One of Marlborough’s famous peaks, The Ned mountain served as the playground for Marisco founder, Brent Marris, during his youth. The ethos “Young At Heart” encapsulates this wine; a true expression of grassroots winemaking that places the energy and liveliness of adventure in every bottle.
Tasting Notes
A fragrant bouquet of rose petals and hints of wild raspberry precedes the seamless palate. With a plush array of bright tangy berry flavors, this wine is refreshed and framed by crisp acid edges and the gentle brush of fine fruit tannin.
Vintage Notes
The 2025 vintage will go down as one of the most memorable in Marisco’s history – and not just for the scale. With Marlborough delivering a warm, dry summer and a settled, golden fall, our vineyards yielded a generous crop of exceptional quality.
It was a season that demanded care, precision and collaboration. From the vine to the winery, our teams met the challenge with passion and purpose. The fruit came in clean and ripe, with vibrant flavors and stunning balance. Now, with ferments finishing and blending underway, we’re already tasting the promise of another remarkable release.
As Brent, our Chief Winemaker, put it: “Harvest 2025 was a collective effort full of positive energy – and the wines look exciting!”
Winemaking
Gently pressed to minimize color and tannin pick up; the resulting juices are fermented in temperature controlled, stainless steel tanks with select yeast strains, chosen for their ability to capture and enhance aromatic intensity whilst contributing positive palate texture attributes.
