Riesling
Tasting Notes
The 2022 Riesling has an expressive bouquet of Meyer lemon, ripe peach, and fragrant white floral notes. Intense, refreshing flavors of ripe tangerine, pineapple, and passion fruit fill the palate over a bright structure with hints of minerality. The juicy and bright citrus and tropical profile evolves into a lengthy, refreshing, and satisfying finish.
Vineyards
StoneCap is made with estate-grown grapes from the expansive, renowned Goose Ridge Vineyard in Washington State’s Columbia Valley. This valley and its surrounding rivers were formed during the Ice Age. The soil in this region is frequently wind-blown, leaving a “stonecap” at the top of the hills.
Winemaking
The fruit producing this Riesling was sourced from two different sections of our estate vineyard. The majority came from the east side, where temperatures remain cooler, allowing for much more acid retention and hang time. The remainder of the fruit comes from the top of the vineyard; this block has excellent exposure and produces wine with expressive aromatics. The Riesling was fermented cool in 100% stainless steel to maintain the fruit’s crisp purity and to preserve aromatics.
