Matetic Syrah
Tasting Notes
Deep violet in color, this elegant coastal Syrah shows classic varietal character with aromas of black pepper, wet earth, spice, cocoa, and subtle violet. The palate is layered and refined, offering rich black fruit, savory minerality, and smooth, structured tannins with impressive depth and balance. Pairs beautifully with grilled steak, lamb, barbecue, aged cheeses, mushroom risotto, grilled portobello mushrooms, and roasted vegetables.
Vineyards
Made with Organic Grapes. Sourced from select vineyard blocks in Chile’s Rosario Valley, Matetic Syrah reflects the region’s diverse granite and loamy soils, ideal for producing wines with depth, structure, and consistency. Biodynamic farming practices, including cover crops, composting, and dry farming, encourage deep root development and naturally balanced vines. Made from 100%Syrah Clone 470, the wine is known for its rich texture, structure, and palate weight.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested grapes were carefully sorted, cold macerated for 10 days, and fermented with native yeasts. Half of the fruit was fermented whole cluster to enhance texture and complexity, while gentle punch-downs and pump-overs ensured elegant extraction of color and flavor. The wine was aged 22 months in French oak, bottled unfiltered, then cellared for an additional 4 years before release.
