Hidden Asset Red Wine
Vintage:

Tasting Notes
Choice lots of Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Franc were blended into Hidden Asset — a complex, rich, silky and elegant wine. Aromas and flavors include raspberry and pomegranate with a hint of spice. The wine is lush and jammy, with velvety chocolate tannins and a lingering finish.
Vineyards
This Hidden Asset Red Blend is made from grapes grown in the winery’s Los Alamos and Valley View vineyards. Originally planted from cuttings brought over from Europe over 40 years ago, Lucas & Lewellen’s Los Alamos vineyard offers thick layers of clay and loam soils coupled with a temperate climate to provide ideal grape-growing conditions for Rhone, Burgundian, Bordeaux, and Italian Varieties.
Winemaking
The wine ages for 16 months in French Oak barrels (21% new).

Vineyards
From the Lucas & Lewellen Estate Vineyards in Santa Barbara County, Louie Lucas selects choice lots for limited production premium wines. And Winemaker Megan McGrath Gates then crafts award-winning wines. The winery’s vineyards are located in the 3 principal wine grape growing regions of Santa Barbara County: the Santa Maria Valley, the Los Alamos Valley and the Santa Ynez Valley. These valley vineyards benefit from a transverse mountain range topography, and an east-west orientation which channels cool ocean air from the Pacific into the coastal valleys. Warm days and cool nights produce a long, gentle growing season. This 2018 Hidden Asset Red Blend is made from grapes grown in the winery’s Los Alamos and Valley View vineyards.
