Reserve Meritage
Tasting Notes
An elegant, full-bodied blend showcasing classic Bordeaux varietals. Aromas of blackberry jam, cassis, and cola are layered with mint and white pepper. The palate is rich and plush, with cooked berry flavors, hints of vanilla, and a smooth, well-rounded finish. Inspired by the French countryside, it pairs beautifully with simple, rustic dishes such as coq au vin, roasted leg of lamb, and braised beef brisket.
Vineyards
Located at 2400 ft. above sea level, these grapes were estate- grown at our Hay Station Ranch vineyard where warm days are cooled by the evening mountain air. This area’s unique soil of decomposed granite mixed with volcanic sediment and red clay produce a wonderful mineral component. Grapes have been grown in the Sierra Foothills for 150 years.
Winemaking
This reserve wine was aged for 12 months in small French & American oak barrels.
