L10 Malbec
This label is a collaboration between Bianchi and Argentine soccer superstar, Lionel Messi’s Charity Foundation. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of L10 wines will be donated to the Foundation, which focuses on healthcare and educational initiatives for socially disadvantaged children. The L10 Wines, made at Bodegas Bianchi with the guidance and input from the famous soccer player, are sourced from the Doña Elsa Estate in San Rafael, Mendoza, at 2560 feet above sea level. This is one of the coolest areas of San Rafael in sandy, calcareous soil of alluvial.
Tasting Notes
Profound purplish color, typical of young Malbec wines. Intense, aromatic, fruit-forward expression with evidence of ripe red fruit and notes of violets, accompanied by a subtle minerality. On the palate, it has a sweet entry, soft tannins, balanced acidity, and medium structure.
Vineyards
The hand-harvested grapes for L10 Malbec come from both the winery’s family vineyards, as well as from associated producers who are also in San Rafael, Mendoza. The winery’s Finca Dona Elsa and Finca Asti vineyards have poor, alluvial origin soils, with a loamy-sandy texture and some calcareous sediments which provide minerality notes to the wine.
