Sauvignon Blanc
Born of the Waihopai Valley, The Ned represents the vibrant diversity that is so prevalent in the Marlborough wine-growing region. One of Marlborough’s famous peaks, The Ned mountain served as the playground for Marisco founder, Brent Marris, during his youth. The ethos “Young At Heart” encapsulates this wine; a true expression of grassroots winemaking that places the energy and liveliness of adventure in every bottle.
Tasting Notes
Punchy aromatics of lemon and lime citrus with undertones of juicy tropical fruits, fill the nose. Plush on the palate, showing juicy grapefruit freshness with lively acidity carrying these classical Waihopai Valley characters to a lengthy finish.
Vintage Notes
The 2025 vintage will go down as one of the most memorable in Marisco’s history – and not just for the scale. With Marlborough delivering a warm, dry summer and a settled, golden fall, our vineyards yielded a generous crop of exceptional quality.
It was a season that demanded care, precision and collaboration. From the vine to the winery, our teams met the challenge with passion and purpose. The fruit came in clean and ripe, with vibrant flavors and stunning balance. Now, with ferments finishing and blending underway, we’re already tasting the promise of another remarkable release.
As Brent, our Chief Winemaker, put it: “Harvest 2025 was a collective effort full of positive energy – and the wines look exciting!”
Winemaking
The preservation of aromatic and fruit flavors from the vineyard through to the winery is of the utmost importance in our Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is field destemmed before being gently pressed into stainless steel tanks. The juice is fermented at cool temperatures with selected yeast strains aimed at developing a full flavor spectrum; from green and citrus notes to riper, more tropical flavors. Vegan Certified.
