Merlot
G3 is a tribute to the three generations of the Monson family to have farmed in the Columbia Valley for more than a century.
Tasting Notes
The G3 Merlot is a symphony of fruit-forward aromas and flavors. Its nose is a riot of black cherry cola, blueberry, and black raspberry, with a hint of toasty complexity. On the palate, this wine shows lavish notes of plum and cherry, with a rich, velvety texture. The wine finishes with a lingering vibrant fruit intensity supported by a touch of minerality and freshness. Overall, this is a wine of terrific finesse and charm, one that showcases the uniqueness of Washington Merlot.
Vineyards
100% Columbia Valley, Estate-Grown Fruit. The fruit for this wine was sourced from some of the premier upper blocks of the estate
Goose Ridge Estate Winery is certified by Sustainable WA, a 3rd party sustainability program for Washington grape growers. Sustainable WA is a framework of best management practices that focus on the three pillars of sustainability; environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability. Goose Ridge was one of the first to gain the certification.
Winemaking
The wine was pumped over twice daily until a balance of color, structure, and flavor extraction had been achieved. Malolactic fermentation on oak smoothed and softened the wine. The wine matured for 15 months in barrels (with 25% new oak). A small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon was carefully blended to polish the structure and enhance the aromatic intensity of the Merlot.

These are some serious tannins here, so get ready to consider decanting a $15 barn-burner of a bargain. First, take time to enjoy the wine's aromas of black cherries, orange cake and lilacs. The aforementioned tannins go hand in hand with black tea, blueberry and coconut flavors.Best Buy
