The 2022 First Flight Cabernet Sauvignon reveals concentrated, deep aromas of soy and hoisin, accented by vibrant red fruits and blueberries, with subtle hints of mocha and tomato leaf. The palate is broad and full, dominated by blueberry and plum flavors underscored by a mineral edge. The mid-palate is taut, dense, and coiled with energy. The finish is intense, showcasing dark, savory, and spicy notes that leave a lasting impression.
Vineyards
Goose Ridge Estate Winery is certified bySustainable WA, a 3rd party sustainability program for Washington grape growers. Sustainable WA is a framework of best management practices that focus on the three pillars of sustainability; environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability. Goose Ridge was one of the first to gain the certification.
Winemaking
The grapes for this blend were hand-harvested and gently processed into small vessels for fermentation. Fermentations were managed to regulate the development of concentrated flavors and soft tannins. The wines were aged in French oak (40% new & 60% neutral barrels) selected to express and frame the beautiful fruit with a nuanced oak character. Each barrel included in this wine was carefully selected for its balance of power and elegance. The wine spent 22 months in barrels before bottling.
