Bodegas Muriel Crianza 2015

A bright cherry color. Clean and bright. Ripe red fruit aromas combined with fruit from the aging (vanilla, cocoa, coffee). Broad and elegant with soft tannins. Very pleasant.

Wine Facts

Winemaker Notes
2015 was one of the earliest harvests in history. The vintage was qualified as “Very Good” by the regulatory council. A selection of grapes from vineyards mostly located in the Elciego municipality, the heart of Rioja Alavesa. Vines are planted in very poor calcareous soils of a clay loam texture. They are grown mainly using the traditional gobelet-pruned system. The fermentation and maceration process is carried out during 15 days in stainless steel vats, with a daily pumping over routine for the optimum extraction of colour and tannins. The wine is matured for 12 months in 225 litre-capacity barrels, of American and French oak –from these latter, 30% are brand new.

Serving Hints
It matches well with tapas and cold meats. A great choice with game, lamb, gourmet hamburgers, mountain paella, pasta, rice and meat dishes, and not very cured cheese

Translation on label
“Centuries ago, the people of Elciego built high towers to look out over their vineyards and the greatest landmarks of their region: the Ebro River and the magnificent Sierra Cantabria Mountains. Today, the traces of our ancestor’s dreams still remain in the balanced and welcoming landscape of our village.”
