This wine is so well-integrated that it’s difficult to pick out any particular characteristics, though there is a wonderful intensity of aromas. There are hints of dark fruit, boysenberry, cassis, fennel and roasted mocha coffee, but these just scratch the surface of scents emanating from the glass. These aromas carry over nicely to the flavors on the palate, with added hints of currants and ripe pomegranates. A bold, rich mouthfeel on this well-structured wine carries from the entry to the finish, with restrained tannins that should lead to long ageing potential, as well as current enjoyment. |
