Champagne Palmer Blanc de Blanc NV
Subtle aromas of citrus, white flowers and almonds. Silky on the palate with beautiful minerality. An incomparably pure cuvee with lovely balance and freshness.
Crafted from Chardonnay, primarily from the magnificent terroir of Villers-Marmery and Trepail. These Premier Crus in the Montagne de Reims area, recognized for their elegance and freshness, are harmoniously blended with the delicately fruity Chardonnays of the Cote de Sezanne. 5 years aging on lees (bottle) or 8 years (magnum). The Montagne de Reims is a vast plateau covered in forest, extending between the cities of Reims and Epernay. Vineyards have been planted in the chalky soils of the mountain’s slopes. The region has the most villages classified as “Grand Cru”. Most of the Palmer vineyards are located on the north-facing (the Grand Crus of Mailly and Verzenay) and north-eastern slopes (the premier Crus of Trepail and Villers Marmery) of the Montagne de Reims, where the environment is rigorous and climates are extreme. The Montagne de Reims is the kingdom of the great Pinot Noirs, a vigorous and generous grape variety that adapts extremely well to the chalky soils. However, there are little islands of exceptional Chardonnay in this ocean of Pinot Noirs. These are located on the eastern slopes, well-sheltered from the western winds. These are the Premier Crus of Trepail and Villers-Marmery, two jewel villages that have given birth to superb Chardonnays appreciated for their concentration and structure.
Pairs well with shrimp, crab, shellfish, smoked salmon, oysters, vegetables, stuffed mushrooms and a variety of fruit based desserts as well as cheeses. Also pairs with wild sea bass with herbs in a Champagne sauce, hard boiled eggs and Tete de Moine cheese.
