A standout vintage in the Barossa, the 2016 growing season had lower than average rainfall with slightly higher temperatures during spring and early summer. Conditions were good for flowering and fruit set, with most vineyards ripening evenly and completely. Higher than average bunch numbers, combined with the dry year led to smaller than average berries with great flavors and colors, and good natural acidity.
Barossa Ink came about as a challenge set down by the Grant Burge winemaking team to come up with the most vibrant and impactful wines as possible. The result are two intensely opulent wines from the heart of the Barossa, with a color so dark, it is almost ink.
