Two Angels Divinity 2006
|
This first vintage of Divinity Rhone Blend is immediately striking, with aromas that are wonderfully complex and enjoyably intense. Hints of anise, blueberries and ripe plum peek out from this rich mosaic of smells. On the palate, this wine has a rich, full body and firm structure, but is balanced enough to fairly glide from entry to finish. Added flavors of raspberry, cherry, Canadian bacon, sweet vanilla and integrated fruit and oak components add to the tasting enjoyment.

| Winemakers Notes: | The grapes for Two Angels come exclusively from the renowned Shannon Ridge Vineyards on extremely volcanic, red pumice stone terroir. Hugging the mountain rims along the east edge of the new High Valley AVA at close to 2,200 feet (the highest vineyards in California), the area is reminiscent of the Rhone Valleys Crozes-Hermitage vineyards. This vintage was aged for 10 months in 70-percent French oak barrels and the rest in American barrels (35-percent of the barrels were new). |
