Started by Alfonso Undurraga Marimon in 2006, Terrapura consists of five value-priced varietal Chilean wines (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenere) with the grapes coming from top vineyards in the Colchagua and Curico regions within the Central Valley of Chile.
The grapes that comprise the Terrapura wines are carefully monitored by the family. They work closely with the growers on the care and management of the vines in order to ensure that only the finest grapes are brought to the winery and vinified under strict guidelines.
Origin of the Name:
The name Terrapura loosely translates to pure earth, from the spanish tierra pura. The name was chosen to represent Chile’s natural conditions for making great wines. Pure crystal water from the Andes and the country’s exceptional climate make for “a winemaker’s paradise”.
