Cherubs have adorned many works of art over the centuries, but none so tasty as the line of wines with grapes coming from the best vineyards in the High Valley AVA, Lake County, California. The grapes for these wines are grown exclusive in one of the most prized vineyards on the highly respected Shannon Ridge Estate.
The label art for Two Angels was created by Jacob de Backer in 1591 and the theme is the hilarity of inebreation and the trauma of the morning after. Excessive joy must be countered by equally excessive sorrow, with penitential atonement for pleasure.
Somewhat related to the Oriental "yin and yang" concept. It was created as an allegorical warning to "use wine sparingly, or suffer the consequences."
