A deep purple-red color, Valentin Bianchi’s 2013 Malbec boasts a nose filled with ripe plum, cherries, hints of vanilla and coffee. The flavors mimic the aromas, with a massive, yet soft and silky, mouthfeel, and a lush, long finish. It is the perfect expression of the highly-praised Malbec grape.

Winemaker Notes
Considered by many to be the finest varietal grown in Argentina, this 2013 Malbec comes from the Doña Elsa Estate, situated in Ram Caída, San Rafael, Mendoza at 2460 feet (750 meters) above sea level. Rama Caída is among the coolest areas of San Rafael, with sandy calcareous soil of alluvial origins. The grapes were hand-picked and classically fermented, including maceration on the skins. The resulting juice was drained, pressed and went through autoclarifying rackings for 20 days of maceration. It then spent six months in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels. The wine was then stabilized, filtered and bottled, spending 3 months in bottle before shipping.
